Prince Regent Concourse Enhancement

Cleshar were selected to implement a permanent solution to drainage issues at the station and replace the paving units on the concourse level.

Scope of works
  • Installation of a new general drainage system on the underside of the concourse structural deck and below ground drainage systems.

  • Replacement of the existing waterproofing system

  • Installing a new proprietary ACO system.

  • Replacement of the existing reinforced paving slabs with new flag paving with rigid bound construction

  • Installation of a series of rainwater pipes to the underside of the concourse structural deck that connects the channel outlets to vertical rainwater pipes.

Innovation

Cleshar introduced an innovative barrier system to allow for exclusion zones to be set up to enable works to be carried out during traffic hours in most areas, always maintaining 2m width public access. This allowed for daytime working for a large portion of the paving works which significantly reduced the programmed footprint of the project whilst maintaining the highest quality of waterproofing (maximising larger areas of application) and best value for money and minimal compromise to public access.

During the project Cleshar engaged with the TfL premises team to enable utilities services to be installed to localised retail units within the concourse without disrupting the programmed activities.
